[Solved] Need GTK 2.5.10 or higher

Hey guys.

Ok, so I have this new Android phone -- an LG Optimus S -- and I've decided I can't stand trying to work with the files only to be told I don't have permission to do certain things. So I'm going to root it. The forum at AndroidCentral.com instructs Linux users that they "...need GTK+ 2.5.10 or later". I am running SalixOS-Xfce-13.1, and when I run this:

pkg-config --modversion gtk+-2.0

I get this:

2.18.9

....so my question is: How do I upgrade my GTK without having to upgrade my whole OS? If there isn't an easy way, then is SalixOS-Xfce-13.37-LIVE an option?

2.18.9 is a higher version than 2.5.10

I just realized what I did. All I saw was 2.5 versus 2.1.....something or other. Wasn't seeing 5 versus 18. Geeeeeez. Bedtime for sleepy computer people.
