grub problem after install

Hi all,

after a complete install of Salix on my Acer laptop (very new; this year), when
I rebooted the background was black and the single word ... grub: appeared.

since I am kinda of a noobie at this Os, what command is it looking for.
Did another reboot and it did the same thing.

What was the install version and media?

Also, do you remember what steps you followed when you were asked to install the bootloader?
