Hello All,
I am happily running Salix 13.0.2 on my laptop. Today I was notified of packages updates. Unfortunately I have noticed that Opera 12.02 is excluded because of lack of package util-linux, which seems to me quite strange. Can this be an error of Gslapt?
Thanks in advance for support.
Antonio

*bump*
Same issue, and looking forward to an answer. First time I have seen this dependency message.
Thanks.

There are no stupid questions.
Re: Cannot upgrade to Opera 12.02
I'm guessing someone screwed up with the dependencies.
Until I will be able to fix it, you can probably use:

Until I will be able to fix it, you can probably use:
Code: Select all
slapt-get --ignore-dep -i opera

I fixed it. You should be able to upgrade normally now, if you refresh the package cache first.

Hello gapan,
I confirm it's fixed. Upgrade worked like a charm.
Thanks again

Probably me, sorry!gapan wrote:I'm guessing someone screwed up with the dependencies.
Re: Cannot upgrade to Opera 12.02
No, it wasn't you. The dep file you're providing for the opera package is usually only meant for the latest slackware release. If you use the same dep file as in 14.0, for 13.37, or 13.1, or 13.0, it would not work. There were package renames/joins/splits between each slackware release. Actually I never use your dep file when I update opera. I just copy over the dep file from the previous version of opera (which is different for each slack/salix release) to the new version package name. Additionally I have "minimized" the dependencies listed in the dep file using depmin.ruario wrote:Probably me, sorry!gapan wrote:I'm guessing someone screwed up with the dependencies.
Same thing that I do for firefox btw.
