I installed Salix Mate and everything went well. When I tried to open the desktop settings I received the following message on the screen:
"Unable to start the settings manager 'mate-settings-daemon'. If the MATE settings manager does not run some of your choices will not take place. This means that there is a problem with MateComponent, or some other settings manager besides MATE is already active and is in conflict with the MATE settings manager."
I would appreciate your help in fixing this. Thank you.
P.S. "Because I use the Greek edition of Salix, I translated the above message from Greek. I hope you make sense". I posted the same also in the Greek section of the forum yesterday but since I have not yet received any answer I thought to post also here.
