enthernet port stop working 13.37 x64
enthernet port stop working 13.37 x64
Soon after wanting to start my dhcp or after installing i try doing a update. I get "...Failed to download: Couldn't resolve host name". Try going to my windows. no internet there. So the only thing i can think of enthernet port stop. Check my BIOS. Lan is on. Not sure what the problem is. I have a powerline adapter. No clue to if that the reason. I know I had salix run on this computer before. With no problem with enthernet. Running out of ideas. And I can only run my computer on runlevel 3. And yes my computer internet was running just find before the install.
Re: enthernet port stop working 13.37 x64
If internet's not working in Windows either, the problem isn't with Salix. It's a coincidence.
As for runlevel 3 ... you must have unwittingly done something amiss during or after the install; or it could be a bad download or a bad burn. Did you check the md5sum? Assuming it checks out, you could try reinstalling. That won't help with the ethernet though.
Which Salix version did you install?
Good luck with it anyway!

Re: enthernet port stop working 13.37 x64
From Salix running as root run and post here the outputs of the following:
Regarding only being able to run in run level 3, maybe you installed the "core" version instead of basic or full. This may also explain your network problem, at least in Salix.

Re: enthernet port stop working 13.37 x64
If your ethernet card really is a card, then try to re-plug it. Maybe it has a bad contact. If it is onboard, then try to get another card for a few bucks, maybe it is just broken.
