Re: White words and youtube window going over things?
Please explain further what you mean by "youtube window". Are you viewing youtube from a browser? Which browser? Note that youtube will "overlap" your entire screen when Full Screen view is selected.
"White words"... no idea. Screenshot may help.

Are you sure it's not just the transparency effect on the terminal? That's what it looks like from your photo.
Anyway, try enabling/disabling compositing in xfce. Run xfwm4-tweaks-settings and it's in the last tab.
Also, tell us what your graphics card is.

There could be an issue with your graphics card, driver and flashplayer.
As well as trying gapan's suggestion of disabling composite effects you could try a YouTube HTML5 Video Player trial available here...

No registration is necessary, just click the Join the HTML trial button and search for a video. see if that makes any difference.

Re: White words and youtube window going over things?
Sorry i haven't been able to post it's that my laptop wen't out (to a fixer)on that night which we also found a few problems on the motherboard
edit - to be more percise one of the problems is the buttons for my touchpad not registering but good thing i got a usb mouse around ...
edit 2 - my graphics card is a GTX 560M and i just turned on the compositor settings + joined the html5 thingy
edit 3 - i think we fixed it but ...youtube is all discolored differently like it's purple and blue and the light versions of those colors aswell ...
screenshot of what i mean
here's how it's suppose to look like

4 - ok so apparently joining nor quitting the html 5 program changes the colors gonna try some compositor tricks
edit 5 -ok so get this - enabling "display compositing" takes the problem away( the youtube overlay thing) and disabling brings it back with the white half words.. guess il leave it on until a fix is found

Re: White words and youtube window going over things?
Have you run any other Linux distro on this machine? If you did, were there similar problems?
We need some more hardware information (just a guess, but you may have a "hybrid" graphic card system which is problematical in Linux). Open a Terminal and do the following...
Enter your root password, then do...

Re: White words and youtube window going over things?
When you say that your problem is fixed, is it only the overlay that is fixed or also the blue video problem too? I'm confused as you are not that clear on what you write. In any case, if the blue video problem is not fixed, you should try disabling hardware accelaration in flash. I think you can do that by right clicking any flash video and then somewhere inside Settings...
