xarchiver "error while accesing archive"

Hi all!
Sorry if this've already solved somewhere, I couldn't find it.

I've installed xarchiver from slackbuilds.org. I'm really sad, because I can't create archives with it. If I'm trying, I get an error message "error while accessing archive". The archive is created, but there's only a useless file in it. Well, it works properly, if create archive only from one file, but I like to do so from whole directories.

I'm really surprised that I could not find any gui archiving tools in the salix repos, is there any?

Yes, there is. I don't know which installation mode you chose, but file-roller is installed by the full installation.

Regarding your xarchiver problem, I can't help you there. You could try running from console and checking the output. However, I recommend you first try file-roller as it's a really good archive manager either.

I didn't find file-roller, because I searched for it as "fileroller" . It's perfect, thank you Shador
