[Solved] Installing a file without suffix

Hello,
I'm new to Salix (and Slackware based distros in general). I'm trying to install the drivers to a Brother DCP-J315W printer. When I try to install linux-brprinter-installer-2.0.0-1 (the unpacked file has no suffix) I'm lost ...
According to the instructions given by Brother:
$ sudo bash linux-brprinter-installer-*.*.*-* Brother machine name
When I try I got the following respons in the terminal:
"Rpm or dpkg is required."
What should I do?
