I'm a newbie with Salix/Slackware Os, I'm user with debian for many years ( almost 9 years). On debian I had mate-desktop 1.8, in salix is strange as same as version in Debian but in Salix caja uses 100% Cpu.
I can caja for pcmanfm for exemple but I would like to know if it's posible to fixed. I don't know if I did a mistake when made of installtion or it is normal another users...
Please let me know if it is a common mistake by caja . In fact kodi through compiled(sourcery) has a same problem...
I think mate on salix expend more ram than Debian OS.
Kidness regards,

Re: Caja uses 100% Cpu
I'm guessing that you're using the same home dir between distributions. There could be conflicts in configuration that cause this. Create a new user account in Salix with a clean home and see if you get the same.
Re: Caja uses 100% Cpu
mmmm, But I dont share anything with debian I did remove debian inside my hd.as I said Kodi without streaming, watching a movie in mkv also it puts the CPU to 100% of the two cores I have in this laptop.gapan wrote:I'm guessing that you're using the same home dir between distributions. I saw same problems with Linux mint in 1.4. Tomorrow I will create new user but as I said it is strange because today didn't use caja and put otherway 100% cpu. This is the only problem I have got on salix.
I like salix, i know it is a good operating system

Cheers
Re: Caja uses 100% Cpu
It sounds like it's probably a hardware problem. Take a look at the suggestions in this thread:
http://forum.salixos.org/viewtopic.php? ... t=acpi_osi
Especially the acpi related options on boot.

Re: Caja uses 100% Cpu
Did you try all options?
There could also be some setting in your BIOS. Search for something like "Legacy mode" or anything like that.

Re: Caja uses 100% Cpu
I have just installed with a xfs system and everything is ok, caja and any software don't use 100% In fact, at now I'm surfing with spend of cpu 20% each core. Very fastly.
