Hello everyone, I'm trying to get my PIA VPN working with openvpn in Network Manager. This works flawlessly under Slackware, but for some reason in Salix there are no ciphers listed in the security tab under advanced settings (see link for pic below). Since I need a default "AES-128-CBC" cipher for PIA to work my question is what am I missing or what can I do to generate these ciphers?

Re: Networkmanager-openvpn, no ciphers listed in security ta
Well, I certainly feel stupid... I guess Salix doesn't have openvpn installed by default...
EDIT: I'm kind of surprised installing networkmanager-openvpn doesn't pull in the openvpn package as well since it doesn't work properly without it.

Right. I have added the dependency now. Thanks!

I didn't get very far using VPN with NetworkManager. There will (at some point) be a package in the repositories for openresolv, which should facilitate using VPNs from the command line.

Working fine here using private internet access. Just followed the directions here. I just ignored the parts that are debian specific.

I get the impression much depends on how the particular VPN provider authenticates users. Probably in each case, similar instructions could be provided that would actually work, even for customers not using Ubuntu. If the provider could be bothered.
I vaguely recall that in at least one case, I did indeed get it to work, but I had a DNS leak I couldn't fix that way.
