srware iron/chromium problem with proxy settings

I have a problem with chromium respectively iron: they do not recognize the proxy (settings) of slackware 14.2. When i try to configure it in Tools>Advanced i'm told that this system is not recognized. Any idea in regard? Thanks a lot in advance!

What did you try? Did you try setting an http_proxy environment variable? Open a terminal and run:

export http_proxy=http://yourproxy

then launch chrome from the same terminal.
