How do I go about becoming a Mirror. [SOLVED]

I want to contribute to the Salix community but I am not there yet as far as programming goes so I was thinking I could host a mirror but I am unsure who I need to talk to about this and what the requirements are. Here is my system specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
Hard Drives: 3 1 TB Western Digital Caviler Black Drives that spin at 7200 rpm. The are setup up in a RAID1/RAID5 configuration.
Internet connection: DSL and I think this my be a problem.

Although I do have it set up as a server it is also my desktop so if that is a problem then let me know. If this will not work it is ok maybe I'll start a news letter. 8-)

There are instructions on how to create a mirror in the wiki. But doing so in a home DSL connection is going to be tough. Get a handful of users trying to connect at the same time and you connection will crawl. Not going to be that fast in the first place for single connections anyway, upload speeds for DSL lines are not that great.

What about the file sharing from the provider ?

My provider allow "big file sharing" option :

We can send a huge file on his server and get back a link.

Each user that will use the link will get the file at 30 Mbits/s.

Restriction : any file without being downloaded during 1 month will vanish.

What about that ?

dl.free.fr is not an option. And it's not a "mirror". Package manager software (slapt-get, gslapt) will not be able to connect to it. And uploading to dl.free.fr is very slow.....
