k3b3
Re: k3b3
No, it isn't available through slapt-get. I have removed it from being available because it needs a library that is included only in aaa_elflibs.thenktor wrote:Gapan, it's part of the official Slackware extra repo, so it should be available via slapt-get, too.
Re: k3b3
When I tried to launch k3b from the command line, this is the error returns: "k3b: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.62: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".
I like k3b3 since I am used to it and it appears to be less buggy than k3b4. k3b3 and its support packages (qt3 and kdelibs3 -at least from my understanding from reading the Absolute Linux forum) require less hard drive space than k3b4. I just thought I would give it a try in Salix. Would like it much if it works in Salix. The packages are downloaded from Slackware/extra/kde3-compat.
P.S.
Thank you for the hint in gapan and Salix Wizard's replies. I created a symlink of the missing library libjpeg.so.62 to libjpeg.so.8.0.1 and k3b3 now can be launched. Will try to burn a disc with it later.

Re: k3b3
I'm guessing the only reason is because Pat is too bored/busy to rebuild software that requires it with the new libjpeg. That software is in slackware /extra though, so they are not really supposed to be supported as everything else.thenktor wrote:I still don't get the point why this file was not removed from that package...
